Julia Forstenpointner

Dr Forstenpointner is working as a research fellow/medical doctor at Prof. Baron’s laboratory and is trained to become a neurologist. She was trained to conduct the standardized QST protocol according to the DFNS in 2016. Her main interest includes the identification and stratification of patients according to their pathophysiological mechanisms. Among QST her research interests involve the study of pain with imaging technics such as the spinal/supraspinal fMRI and functional laser-Doppler-flowmetry. By combining these technics, new insights into mechanisms of pain development can be achieved.
